The 2008 Seweweekspoort MTB will commence on October
18. The
magnificent Seweweekspoort through the Swartberg Mountains will
once
again be traversed during this exciting 78km Classic Mountainbike
Race.
A 25km Mini-Challenge will also take place.
The Rocktober Music Festival as well
as Ladismith High School's Country
Fair is all happening during the weekend. For more information

Both races start at Amalienstein on Route62. The finish is
at the grounds
of Ladismith High School. Transport will be provided back to the
start.
Every person who finishes the race will receive a race medal.
Besides
Lucky Draw prizes, the following prizes are up for grabs:
First Prize (Men and Women): R2500
Second Prize (Men and Women): R1000
Third Prize (Men and Women): R500
Competitors must abide by traffic rules at all times. Please
note that
no competitor will be allowed to participate in either the
78km or 25km
races WITHOUT A CYCLING HELMET.
Decisions of the Race Commisaire are final. Should you wish to
lodge an
appeal, you must do so within 30 minutes of finishing.

As mentioned above, the Rocktober
Music Festival kicks off on Friday night. Saturday will see the
Traditional Country Fair (free entry) at the finish
on the Ladismith High school grounds, with more
Rocktober music the Saturday afternoon and evening. Swartberg Adventures
(get in touch with
Johan Uys at 082 926 9389) will offer Quad Bike trips during
the afternoon.
Sunday
On Sunday a number of venues offer something special. For
the adventurous, Quad Bike trips,
again offered by Swartberg Adventures, will take place.
Ladismith Country
House will host a laid back Champagne Breakfast. For more information,

for a Romantic Vineyard Meander and Picnic Lunch. Contact Pam Miller
