The race will commence at the Amalienstein settlement on Route 62
(25km east from Ladismith, towards Calitzdorp).

The first 6km is farmtracks through the Amalienstein orchards, before
the gravel road through Seweweekspoort is joined. Riders will traverse
the poort twice with a 5km jeeptrack loop at the Greater Karoo end.
Back at Amalienstein riders on the 78km route will ride on a single
track to the Zoar settlement. From there a 2km stretch of Blacktop
brings you to the farm Weltevreden. Farmtracks and gravel roads then
take riders to the Hoeko area and across the farm Spera.

Another 2 km brings riders to the Knuyswagendrift section on a gravel
road. From here the route enters Ladismith in the shadow of Towerkop
Peak to finish at the Ladismith High School grounds.

Ladismith Klein Karoo - Seweweekspoort Mountainbike Challenge

   The Seweweekspoort Mountainbike Challenge is in its second year. The
   first race was held in 2003 and was an instant success. This years' race
   commences on Saturday, 16 October 2004 over a distance of 78km.
   A Mini-Challenge over 25km will also take place.

   Entry-fees are R88 (online entry) for the 78km Challenge and R15 for
   the Mini-Challenge. You can also enter on the day, but it will be more
   expensive.

   Meal tickets (for a pasta meal on Friday night) can also be booked online. Meals are not reserved
   for competitors alone - non-competitors are welcome to make a booking. The cost is R30 pp.
